The club was born out of the Diamond44 celebrations in February 2004 which marked the 60th anniversary of the 1944 University Boat Race rowed at Ely. The Club colours, dark blue for Oxford and light blue for Cambridge, symbolise this connection.
We are a friendly club, open to the whole community and welcome rowers of all levels of ability. The club has a strong men's squad, sculling group and an enthusiastic novice group. We also run Learn to Row Courses at various points in the year for Adult beginners.
The club also has a successful Junior section and we have recently been awarded Clubmark accreditation.



he club’s women junior scullers have enjoyed two successive weekends of success, earning wins at the Huntingdon Small Boats Head on 22nd October and Norfolk Sculls a week later.
Fresh from her silver medal winning performance in the WJ15 quadruple sculls event at the Junior Inter Regional championships, Isle of Ely Rowing Club sculler Phoebe Bradbury, set out to show her pace in a single scull at Leicester Regatta on Sunday.
Three women junior fifteen scullers and their cox from the Isle of Ely Rowing Club beamed with delight as they collected their silver medals for the WJ15 coxed quadruple sculls event at the Junior Inter Regional Regatta at Nottingham on Saturday.
